Howatt Consulting is seeking an experienced and reliable Energy Assessor to undertake Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) across residential and commercial properties throughout the UK.
This role is suited to an organised and professional individual with experience producing accurate EPC reports and a strong understanding of current energy assessment methodologies and compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will work alongside our wider building safety and compliance consultancy team, supporting property owners, developers, managing agents, and commercial clients.
The Role
The role will involve:
Undertaking Domestic EPCs
Undertaking Commercial EPCs (non-domestic EPCs)
Carrying out site inspections and property assessments
Producing accurate and compliant EPC reports
Advising clients on energy efficiency improvements where appropriate
Managing assessment schedules and reporting deadlines
Liaising with clients and occupiers professionally on site
Assessments will include a range of property types, including:
Residential properties
Apartment buildings
Commercial premises
Mixed-use developments
Existing and newly completed buildings
Essential Requirements
Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)
Qualified Non-Domestic Energy Assessor (NDEA) desirable
Accreditation with a recognised accreditation scheme
Experience producing EPCs independently
Good understanding of current EPC legislation and compliance requirements
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
Experience working across both residential and commercial properties
Experience supporting property portfolios or managing agents
Knowledge of wider building compliance services
Experience using industry-standard EPC software platforms
